A Year in Review
Its been a busy year around our office and we appreciate your support of our efforts to improve the local healthcare system and create value for purchasers. Although the challenge can seem enormous at times, we must celebrate our small victories and thank our partners who continue to work collaboratively to make Colorado a healthier, business-friendly state. This year saw the dawning of a new era of transparency with the launch of Colorado’s All Payers’ Claims Database. Colorado was just awarded $65 million grant and with this funding and a lot of hard work, we look forward to seeing the integration of primary care and behavioral health. Some key highlights from CBGH in 2014 included:
- Hosting the 7th Annual Colorado Culture of Health Conference, which brought together more than 500 attendees on April 30, 2014 to learn about evidence-based approaches for improving employee health.
- On September 12th, we facilitated a meeting with senior leaders from around the state to engage in a panel discussion at the Brown Palace Hotel. Key working groups were put together to strengthen proactive purchasing efforts and we look forward to reporting more on these activities in 2015.
- Through the CBGH’s payment reform project, we identified significant opportunities for cost savings and better care for employees. Now armed with this knowledge, CBGH Members are poised to make important benefit design and contracting changes in 2015.
Last, but certainly not least, the CBGH Members voted in December and our 2015 Executive Board will be as follows:
Vice President - Jennifer Stroh, City of Colorado Springs
Secretary - Jim Helgoth, Elward Systems Corporation
Treasurer - Kenneth Detweiler
We are excited to welcome the New Year with our new leaders and we hope that we will see you all at one of our upcoming events!
Happy Holidays and Be Well!
