Welcome to 2015
We at the Colorado Business Group on Health wish you the very best and hope you experience a year of unprecedented achievement and success.
For our part, we’ve made but one resolution for this new year: To do everything we can to support employers seeking more health for their employees at less expense to their company by proactively purchasing, rather than passively paying, for health care.
We understand, of course, that employers face numerous challenges to getting better value from their healthcare dollar - not because healthcare is “broken,” but because it works so handsomely and profitably for so many at the expense of employers. So to help employers obtain more effective care delivered more efficiently, the Board and staff of the CBGH are committed in 2015 to supporting an informed dialogue around the intricacies of the health care world. In doing so, we are proud to bring you the following opportunities during the first quarter of 2015.
- As in the past, each month we will organize a program to educate and inspire practical business solutions for health care purchasers. These events are thoughtfully prepared to meet the current needs of our members and affiliates. Our next program will be held at the Kaiser Permanente Lone Tree Medical Office on February 12th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. We will be joined by Dr. Patrick Carroll, Chief Medical Officer of Healthcare Clinics at Walgreens, to discuss the use of retail clinics and designing benefits to incent their utilization.
Buy More Health, Not More Health Care: Tools & Strategies for C-Suite Decision Makers & Purchasers
- These two half-day workshops will be held at the CBGH Office from 8:00am-12:00pm on February 5th or February 26th to give participants a solid understanding of why and how to be proactive purchasers of healthcare. Topics will include: how to use value-based purchasing principles to reduce costs, how price transparency increases negotiating power, and the ways to identify the best care for employees.
